Exchange Studies at IPU Berlin in the Framework of a Cooperation Agreement

The IPU Berlin has signed several cooperation agreements with partner universities both within and outside of Europe and participates in the Erasmus+ program. The precondition to spending an exchange semester at IPU Berlin is the existince of a valid cooperation agreement between IPU Berlin and your home university. If your home university is participating in the Erasmus program, you are probably eligible for Erasmus+ funding for a duration of 3 to 12 months during your studies at IPU Berlin.

The following list provides an overview of the entire range of study programs and courses at IPU Berlin. Please click on your relevant study program to find the course catalogue and the study plan.

Application Procedure

In order to apply at the IPU Berlin, you first have to be nominated by your home university or your faculty there for a stay abroad. Please inform yourself in advance at your home university about how and when you have to apply for this, so that we receive your application documents on time. The nomination has to be sent directly from your university to the International Office of the IPU Berlin.

Nomination Period Winter Term: 01.03. - 31.05.
Nomination Period Summer Term: 01.09. - 30.11.


As soon as you have been nominated, you receive an email from us with the request to send the following application documents to international(at)ipu-berlin.de:

  • Registration form for Erasmus+ students
  • Passport copy
  • Tabular curriculum vitae
  • Proof of language proficiency

Application Deadline Winter Term: 15.06.
Application Deadline Summer Term: 15.12.


After receiving all application documents and if all requirements are met, we will send you a letter of acceptance by e-mail.

Please note that Bachelor students may only select courses offered in the Bachelor program. These courses are exclusively taught in German. Therefore, a German language proficiency of at least level B2 (according to CEFR) is a prerequisite for an exchange semester.

Master students can choose courses from both the Bachelor's and Master's programs.
