Internship Abroad

Completing an internship abroad represents both a unique challenge and a major opportunity. By gaining initial practical experience abroad within your field of knowledge, you are expanding your foreign-language and intercultural competencies and obtaining new perspectives and approaches, which not only provide you with inspiration and stimuli for your further course of studies, but also for your subsequent career.

Looking for inspiration? On IPU Connect, internship placements can be found where other students have already completed internships. For Erasmus+, opportunities can also be found on the Erasmus Intern website.

Application

Since 2025, the application process has been simplified. A single application is now submitted for funding for internships abroad, which automatically considers both funding options. Funding still generally depends on the destination country. However, under the new procedure, and subject to certain conditions, it is now also possible to receive funding from the alternative programme if needed, for example if the funds of one programme are already exhausted for the respective period.

Current call: Erasmus+ and PROMOS Funding for Internships in the Second Half of 2026
