The IPU
- The IPU was awarded its institutional accreditation by the German Council of Science and Humanities, the Wissenschaftsrat, effective as of 27 November 2014, and was successfully re-accredited for five additional years in April 2020.
- The IPU has been awarded State recognition as a third level academic institution with university status by Berlin's governing administration, the Berlin Senate.
- All of the study courses at the IPU are recognised and approved by Berlin's governing administration, the Berlin Senate.
- The study courses at the IPU have been accredited by an accreditation council recognised by the State.
- Thus the degrees awarded for successfully completing the various study courses at the IPU are legally equivalent to those from every other German university.
- The Berlin State Office for Health and Social Affairs has confirmed that the IPU's MA Psychology (focusing on clinical psychology and psychotherapy) in combination with the BA Psychology (psychotherapy focus) degree fulfils the qualifications for attending the training to qualify as a psychotherapist.
