The link between trauma and psychosis is well documented in international research: up to 68% of psychosis patients report significant trauma in their biography (Mueser et al., 2010; Vallath et al., 2020). However, trauma-related disorders often go unrecognized, as the symptoms can overlap with psychotic disorders. This lack of differentiated diagnosis leads to inadequate treatment approaches, a worsening of the course of symptoms, and increased stigmatization of those affected. In Germany, there is a lack of validated instruments that have been developed specifically for the assessment of trauma-related disorders in psychosis patients. The study aims to close this gap by translating and validating the TALE questionnaire into German. This instrument will enable more precise diagnostics and contribute to the development of better therapeutic approaches. The relevance of the research lies in the improvement of care for a particularly vulnerable and underserved patient group. In the long term, the study can contribute to the standardization of diagnostics and therapy for this group of people and thus significantly improve clinical practice and the quality of life of those affected.
