This event offers those interested in studying psychology an insight into the unique psychodynamic approach of the IPU Berlin. The focus is on an expanded understanding of clinical psychological diagnostics that goes beyond mere classification and treatment. Participants will learn about the influence of unconscious processes in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders. For example, what role do emotions such as shame, anger, or envy play in psychological development? How do relationship experiences influence self-image? What remains hidden from conscious experience – and why?
In addition to an introduction to the basics of the psychodynamic perspective, you will learn how teaching and research at the IPU intertwine to promote a deeper understanding of human psychodynamics – beyond pathologization and toward a comprehensive understanding of what it means to be human.
