The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is committed to creating a worldwide cooperative network of excellence through the sponsorship of outstandingly qualified scientists and scholars as well as future leaders from science-related fields. The Humboldt Network thereby connects performance elites with each other and Germany. It thus strengthens the internationalization of the German science and research landscape as well as German foreign cultural and educational policy beyond the scope of scientific cooperation. The IPU Berlin has so far participated in two of the numerous funding programs.
Research Group Linkage Program.
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation sponsors long-term research collaborations between scientists and scholars in Germany and abroad within the framework of the Alumni Program. The funding of institute partnerships is an instrument of Alumni Sponsorship designed to provide a sustainable basis for international scientific cooperation over a longer period. The cooperation also includes junior researchers (doctoral candidates and postdocs) as potential applicants for an Alexander von Humboldt Foundation research fellowship.
