Current Opening Hours
Mo. to Fr.: 10 am till 8 pm | Sa.: 11 am till 5 pm
Please note: On May 2 and 3, 2025, the library will be closed for a long weekend.
You can find the IPU Library on the 2nd floor of Stromstraße 2, 10555 Berlin-Moabit.
The IPU Campus Guide will show you the way.
All print publications of the IPU library are listed in the IPU catalog (OPAC). Please note that only book and journal titles are displayed here, not the articles contained within them. When searching for journals which are accessible online, you should use the Electronic Journals Library (EZB). In addition, a variety of licensed and free scientific databases are available that should be researched in addition to the library stock.
Access to the electronic library resources is available for all devices connected to the IPU's WiFi. IPU members can also use the resources outside the campus.
If you are unable to find the required title in the IPU library's holdings, you can make use of our acquisition request form.
Alternatively, you can search the catalogs and directories of other Berlin libraries. Use the search portals of the KOBV Cooperative Library Network Berlin-Brandenburg and the VÖBB Association of Public Libraries in Berlin for this purpose. We especially recommend setting up a free library card for the Berlin State Library to gain remote access to their extensive program of licensed electronic resources.
In particularly urgent cases, the delivery service Subito can be used for a fee, which delivers copies from scientific journals and books as PDFs. The delivery usually takes one day.
More information can be found in our online flyer on research in the library.
Electronic Journal Collection of the IPU
The electronic journal collection of the IPU can be accessed via the Electronic Journals Library (EZB). All journals listed there are marked with indicators (traffic light symbols) that refer to the rights of use of the participating institutions.
Electronic Journals Library (EZB)
Most of the databases listed here, or the content therein, have been licensed by the IPU. Please use your personal login details for authentication. This means that the current offerings are fully available only within the IPU network. Some databases are offered as part of national licenses, from which scientifically interested private individuals can also benefit. Individuals with permanent residence in Germany can register in person for free access if they do not have access through a university network or through their scientific library.
You can find additional scientific databases, some of which are freely available online, in the Database Information System (DBIS).
