Video Statement from the IPU President

When meeting in person is not possible, psychoanalytic ideas must move to digital and online formats. The IPU president, Prof. Dr. Ilka Quindeau reports on the current Corona Situation.

In the video statement, Ilka Quindeau, the IPU President, offers her greetings. She notes that the current situation is difficult, but not hopeless. We will have to go without meeting in person for the next while even though it is so important, especially in psychoanalysis. But there are also new opportunities—IPU classes are being converted to digital and online formats, and this blog will provide information from and about IPU.

We will report on the state of affairs at IPU at regular intervals. The the moment, the situation is as follows:

  • The start of the semester has been postponed to April 20th.
  • All public events have been cancelled until after July 20th, and all training and advanced programs have been postponed. We are currently working on digital resources to serve as a replacement for in-person classes.
  • The Library can unfortuately only be used as an online resource at this time.
