This year, the Foundation for the Promotion of University Psychoanalysis is once again offering a doctoral scholarship at IPU—with the aim of supporting outstanding graduates on their path to a successful academic career. Since 2017, the foundation has been funding dissertation projects that address psychoanalytical issues and productively combine research and clinical perspectives.
The scholarship amounts to €1,400 per month and is generally awarded for three years (in justified exceptional cases, an extension for a further year is possible).
Key points at a glance:
- Prerequisite: The doctoral degree must be completed at the IPU and supervised by an IPU professor. Participation in the doctoral programme (tuition-free) is mandatory.
- Submissions must include: an exposé (max. twelve pages without bibliography, including research status, research question, methods, work plan and schedule), a tabular CV, degree certificate, and a reference from the supervisor.
- Selection: The Foundation board will make a decision on the award (and any extension) by commission vote at the beginning of July.
