After receiving excellent ratings for its bachelor's program from students in 2019 and 2022, IPU has once again achieved outstanding results in the CHE ranking for the subject of psychology in 2025. This confirms that students who choose to study psychology at IPU Berlin enjoy excellent conditions compared to other universities in Germany. The organization of studies and examinations as well as the practical orientation of teaching were rated particularly high. The psychoanalytic university employs numerous professors and research assistants who are themselves clinically active as psychotherapists. It is not only the close integration of theory and practice that makes studying psychology here so special. Students also say that the broad psychoanalytical perspective and the wide range of courses on offer enrich their psychology studies.
The statistics show that a high percentage of our students are able to complete their studies quickly and rate the support they receive at the beginning of their studies very highly. The IPU Berlin supports students with a range of student services to ensure that their student journey is as smooth as possible.
The support provided by teaching staff, the learning conditions, and the technical equipment available on site in Berlin-Moabit continue to receive praise. The introduction to academic work also receives a particularly positive mention. The IPU values the early promotion of its young academics, which is also reflected in the recent granting of doctoral rights.
In the CHE university ranking, students evaluate the study conditions at their universities and colleges. It is the largest and most detailed ranking in Germany. It takes into account the opinions of more than 120,000 students. For this cycle, which ran from October 2024 to February 2025, they were asked about their studies, teaching, facilities, and research, among other things. The survey covers around 40 subjects at more than 300 universities and colleges. The results mentioned here refer to the bachelor's degree program in psychology. The ranking for master's degree programs will follow later this year (expected in the fall). Detailed information and comparisons are available at HeyStudium, a service provided by ZEIT Online.
