Prof. Andreas Hamburger soon gives a online lecture on two impactful films from 2023. The lecture is hosted by the Psychoanalytic Studies Program of the Institute for Comparative Literature and Society at Columbia University in the City of New York.
There are many links between the 2023 films Anatomy of a Fall (Justine Triet) and The Zone of Interest (Jonathan Glazer): they are both not only driven by Sandra Hüller's minimalist acting style, but are also connected in the viewers’ unconscious. Exploring these connections, Psychoanalyst and author Andreas Hamburger demonstrates his approach to relational film analysis, interpreting Anatomy of a Fall through the lens of The Zone of Interest. Clips from both films will be shown. Ample time will be given for Q&A with the audience.
