Teaching Focus

My focus in teaching is applied psychological diagnostics and multivariate statistics

In diagnostics, I am interested in the application of well-established psychological tests and questionnaires, as well as their potential and limitations for measuring psychological constructs.

In statistics, my focus is on advanced statistical methods, their application, chances and risks.

I have an interest in enabling my students to be well-informed about the variety of quantitative methods plus a critical reflection of those techniques.

Research Focus

In research, my main focus is on research methodology and evaluation. I am very interested in the statistical and empirical methods in our discipline, in particular with a focus on multivariate models and multilevel-regression models (linear-mixed-models) for cross-sectional and longitudinal data.

In the context of my PhD-project „TIPT“ I am interested in a novel perspective on psychotherapy efficacy research. Psychotherapy as an emotional process consists of a social contract between two people, the therapist and the patient. Contrary to the common examination how psychotherapy modulates patients´ states and traits, this study aims to survey the impact of psychotherapy on the therapist.

Beyond that, in the field of employee selection, I engage in developing and evaluating behavioural and expression-orientated diagnostical approaches to identify leadership-potential.
