The interplay of internal and external signal processing in patients with depression: An event-related brain potential study

Financing: Initial funding by IPU Berlin

01/2019 - 06/2020 / Project Heads: Dr. Christian Valt, Prof. Dr. Dr. Dorothea Huber, Prof. Dr. Birgit Stürmer

Project Description

In previous studies, we have shown that patients suffering from panic disorder and comorbid personality disorder process signals from the outside world more intensively before therapy begins. We attribute this finding to increased arousal and will investigate to what extent the external signal processing is altered in depressives whose disorder is not associated with increased arousal.
