Job advertisement for full professor position in social psychology

The IPU invites applications for a permanent full professor position in social psychology. The position is open from October 2020.

 

The International Psychoanalytic University (IPU) is a private university in Berlin. It offers a wide range of programs, including a polyvalent Bachelor's program and two Psychology Master's programs in Psychology with a focus on "Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy" or (starting in Winter Semester 2020/21) "Work, Society, Environment". Duties:

  • Initiation and implementation of and participation in research projects
  • Promotion of early career researchers
  • Supervision of students and teaching social psychology courses in the German and English Bachelor and Master programs in Psychology (9 hours/week in the lecture period)
  • Participation in academic self-government

Requirements / prerequisites:

  • Applicants must hold a PhD degree in psychology or a closely related field and a habilitation or equivalent academic achievements qualifying for a full professorship.
  • Successful candidates have established an international research reputation in social psychology that fits the psychoanalytic profile of the university, documented in particular by relevant publications and the successful acquisition of third-party funds, and academic teaching experience.

  • Erfahrungen mit qualitativen Methoden empirischer Forschung
  • Approbation als Psychologische_r Psychotherapeut_in mit Fachkunde in tiefenpsychologischer oder analytischer Psychotherapie
  • Lehrerfahrung in englischer Sprache

Research experience in at least one of the abovementioned master programs, experiences with qualitative methods of empirical research, teaching experience in English and an approbation as psychological psychotherapist with expertise in depth psychology or analytical psychotherapy are desirable.

English speaking applicants are welcome. In this case, adequate language skills to teach in German are desirable.

The IPU Berlin appreciates an intensive supervision of students and, therefore, expects successful candidates to have a respective presence at the university.
