On 12.07.2012, the final event in the IPU's public lecture series for this summer semester is being held. The guest speaker is the eminent psychoanalyst Dr. Ronald Britton from London. He will speak about "Natural, Unnatural and Super-natural Beliefs". Dr. Ronald Britton, who is the former president of the British Psychoanalytic Association (BPA) and the vice president of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA), is recognised internationally as an influential psychoanalysis theorist. While he represents a clinical approach primarily, he has also focused repeatedly on the relationship between psychoanalysis and other related sciences and fields of study, such as literature, philosophy and theology. Dr. Britton's research results have helped shape and influence psychoanalytical treatment methods. His books, including such titles as "Sex, Death and the Superego", "The Oedipus Complex Today: Clinical Implications" or "Belief and Imagination: Explorations in Psychoanalysis", have been translated into several languages. After working for many years in a psychiatric clinic, Dr. Britton now runs his own practice in London.
All those interested are again warmly invited to spend the evening with us, the group organising the IPU's public lecture series, and the other guests as we explore this exciting field together. Following the talk, the evening ends with refreshments.
The lecture begins at 20.00 CET and is being held in the Large Lecture Hall at the IPU, Stromstraße 2, 10555 Berlin, on the third floor. There is an admission fee of €5. Students from Berlin's universities and third level institutes, as well as members of the IPU's Sponsors and Fundraisers Association are admitted free-of-charge.
