Access to the internet is available in all of the IPU rooms using a wireless LAN. Three different wireless networks are available: IPU, IPU-EAP and IPU-Guest.
The IPU wireless network is unencrypted and has open access. As soon as your device connects to this network, you can either open a Web browser and enter your access data or establish the connection via the VPN. Please note that when using this wireless network, the data is transferred unencrypted. Thus you should only transfer sensitive data using encrypted connections.
For those using their notebooks regularly at the IPU, and especially for smart phone users, it is recommended to establish the access using the protected IPU-EAP wireless network as no new log-in is required here once the network has been initially set up. Where applicable, the verification of the server certificate has to be deactivated. Detailed instructions will be provided shortly.
The IPU-GUEST wireless network permits guests at the IPU to access the internet using temporarily available access data. Students and staff cannot log in to this wireless network.
