In order to support the IPU in its efforts to anchor psychoanalysis in the university sector once more, the IPU Sponsors and Fundraisers Association was formed. The goal of the association is to foster scientific and academic teaching and research at the IPU and provide the university with material and non-material support. The association aims to support the educational function of the IPU by setting up and developing an interdisciplinary network covering the fields of culture, industry and politics, and to maintain a lively connection between the students, faculty members, alumni of the IPU and the Fundraising Association, as well as with the world beyond the IPU campus.

The association is composed of members (individual persons, organisations and companies) which, as active promoters of the university, strive on the one hand with their voluntary and personal commitment to implement the aims of the IPU, and on the other hand act as supporters and sponsors providing financial resources to promote the scientific, research and teaching activities at the IPU, as well as to promote the university's up-and-coming scientific talent.

The members of the Fundraising Association are informed on a regular basis about what is happening at the university, as well as about the IPU's activities. They can become actively involved in the scientific and academic discourse by participating in the on-going lecture series, the research projects, the symposia and so on.
